For something called Oud Malaki, the biggest surprise for me is just how little oud I actually pick up. Instead, my nose goes straight to the tobacco – warm, spicy and aromatic, with grapefruit and lavender giving the opening a lift before the richer notes settle in.
There's leather in the mix and oud officially sits at the base, but neither takes over. The tobacco remains the bit that keeps pulling me back, giving it a sophisticated, slightly old-school character without straying into grandad's aftershave territory.
Basically, come for the oud and you might be surprised. Stay for the tobacco and you'll understand why I like it.

What's the white tape?
You may notice a small amount of white PTFE (plumber's) tape around the seal of your atomiser. Don't worry – it hasn't escaped from someone's toolbox. We deliberately use it to help secure the bottle and reduce the chance of leakage during its journey to you. Please don't remove it.
