What are fragrance decants?

A fragrance decant is a smaller amount of fragrance transferred from an original bottle into a smaller glass atomiser.

Decants allow you to experience and enjoy a fragrance without committing to purchasing a full-size bottle straight away.

At Scents Sent, our samples are designed for discovery — helping you find fragrances you love before investing in a larger bottle.

Are your fragrances genuine?

Yes. All fragrances sold by Scents Sent are genuine and sourced from authentic bottles.

We only purchase fragrances from authorised retailers and trusted sources, ensuring that every sample contains the original fragrance from a genuine bottle.

We do not sell inspired versions, imitations or fragrance alternatives.

Every sample is carefully hand-decanted from the original bottle into a new glass atomiser, allowing you to experience the fragrance exactly as intended by the fragrance house.

How do I know my sample has not been used?

Every Scents Sent sample is freshly hand-decanted from an authentic fragrance bottle into a new glass atomiser before being carefully packaged and sent to you.

We do not refill used sample bottles or recycle customer returns.

Why is there white tape around my atomiser?

You may notice a small amount of white PTFE (plumber’s) tape around the thread of your atomiser.

This is intentional and is used to help secure the atomiser and reduce the chance of leakage during transit.

Please do not remove the tape, as it helps maintain the seal and protect your fragrance sample.

How many sprays will I get from my sample?

The number of sprays will vary depending on the atomiser used and how each person applies their fragrance.

As a guide:

3ml samples provide approximately 30–45 sprays.

5ml samples provide approximately 50–75 sprays.

These figures are estimates only, as spray volume can vary between atomisers and individual usage.

Why do some fragrances cost more than others?

Fragrance prices vary depending on many factors, including the original bottle price, fragrance concentration, availability and the brand itself.

A sample of a rare or high-value fragrance will naturally cost more than a sample of a more widely available fragrance.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are dispatched using Royal Mail tracked services.

Royal Mail Tracked 48 typically arrives within 2–3 working days after dispatch.

Royal Mail Tracked 24 typically aims to arrive within 1–2 working days after dispatch.

Please note that orders placed on weekends or bank holidays will be dispatched on the next working day.

Delivery estimates are provided by Royal Mail and are not guaranteed.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes. Orders over £100 qualify for free delivery.

Free delivery orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48.

Can I return my fragrance sample?

If you change your mind, please contact us before returning any item.

Due to the nature of fragrance decants, opened or used samples cannot be returned because they cannot be resold.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Currently, Scents Sent only ships fragrance samples within the United Kingdom.

This is due to restrictions around the shipment of alcohol-based fragrance products.
