The Blazing Mister Sam Intense takes an already confident fragrance and turns the dial up. Plum liquor brings a rich, boozy sweetness, while tobacco and leather give it a darker, warmer edge.
There's plenty going on here, but it never feels like someone has simply thrown more ingredients at Mister Sam and hoped for the best. The plum liquor gives the opening real character before the tobacco and leather start muscling their way in as it develops.
It's rich, confident and built for an evening rather than popping to Tesco for a loaf. If the original Mister Sam already had swagger, Intense has apparently decided there wasn't quite enough of it.
